Proceeds of this race benefit the Strive Scholarship program. Strive funds several scholarships to be used at Century College and other post-secondary institutions. Winners of these scholarships are students enrolled in the Strive programs at White Bear Lake Area High School and Area Learning Center who improve their cumulative GPA the most over the course of their senior year. The Dwelling Place Gala

The Dwelling Place Gala is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. It is held annually in October, during Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. Guests will enjoy an elegant evening mixing and mingling with fellow TDP Advocates, Volunteers, Residents and Alumni, in support of a great cause. Highlights of the event include silent auction, dinner, stories of hope and survival from TDP residents, along with a live performance by Sara Groves. Presented by Lincoln of Bloomington. Proceeds from the event benefit The Dwelling Place to provide safe, transitional housing and Christ-centered supportive services for women & children who have suffered domestic abuse.

Wildlife Festival - Sherburn National Wildlife Refuge

Join us for our free, family-friendly 27th Annual Wildlife Festival on October 1st from 10 am to 2 pm! The festival will include many booths set along the packed granite trails at the Oak Savanna Learning Center. Make sure to check out the engaging, hands-on activities including: try your hand at the BB gun range, help clean native seed, learn about Native American culture, test your home nitrate levels, observe live animals and investigate aquatic invertebrates! Several refuge service roads will be open to vehicle traffic during the event to provide visitors a rare opportunity to see areas of the refuge that are not typically open to vehicles. Two local food trucks will be on-site to serve a variety of food at a reasonable cost.
